The Royalty Fishery is the UK's premier mixed fishery with a long and distinguished history. The fishery is open to day ticket anglers during the coarse fishing season and to a lesser extent the salmon fishing season.
Situated between the seaside resort of Bournemouth and the New Forest the fishery is ideally located for pleasure anglers who want to combine a family holiday with first class angling facilities and specimen hunters. The shops and pubs of Christchurch are just a short walk from the fishery and there is a wide range of activities for non anglers. More information can be found on the Christchurch Tourist Information website
We welcome well behaved children and dogs on the fishery.
Dogs should be kept on a lead and not allowed to chase the wildlife. The fishery is within a SSSI and conservation of wildlife is actively managed. You may see duck nesting baskets and bat boxes in parts of the fishery - please do not touch them.
Salmon fishing on the Royalty has a long history of "portmanteau" fish. Large spring fish are still a feature of the fishery.
Fishing for all species is strictly catch and release only. More detailed regulations are on the coarse and gamefishing pages.
We try to keep rules and regulations to a minimum but those that are strictly enforced are for the benefit of all visitors to the fishery.
Some swims on the fishery are particularly suitable for disabled anglers and those with mobility problems.
